I worked for Alaska Job Corps and watched it equip students with skills they could take back to their villages. They gained skills by which they could make a living. This is a loss that will reverberate through Alaska’s small communities.

I’m not Jewish, but it is fascinating watching ancient faiths wrestle with contemporary life. This show on Max looks good.

Mind-blowing trivia. My grandparents were born in the 1920s. This guy‘s grandpa, President John Tyler, was born less than a year after George Washington’s inauguration.

I have a couple of BIVO water bottles from our neighboring town, Richmond, Vermont. It’s frustrating seeing the President’s folly affecting our local businesses.

Happy 60 years to Saxon Hill School. I’m digging our new prayer flags backed by big clouds from the approaching thunder storm. Zoom in on the flags. They say a lot about the culture of our school. #SaxonHillSchool

Happy 10th “Carrie and Lowell”. #SufjanStevens

Excellent

At the end of the school day, this rainbow appeared where Mt Mansfield would be, if the mountain were not hidden by layers of atmosphere.

Beautiful bulletin board decorated with kid-made flowers.

@pat-hammond.bsky.social May I ask how you indulge your pyramids appreciation? Do you have certain forums, Discords, groups, or friends you particularly appreciate? Where are your favorite places to learn new games or geek out over pyramids?

Thank you, Secretary. Thank you, Vermont.

Wildful by Kengo Kurimoto is one of the most visually stunning graphic novels I've seen in a long time. Almost wordless and with beautiful sepia illustrations, it's a wonderfully 'quiet' story about friendship and grief that encourages us to think about the healing power of nature. @pushkinpress.com

Vermont— we have only three days to contact our friends and leaders in education and government. We are at our best when we celebrate our diversity and all are welcome. Our marginalized communitiesin particular need our support.

Vermont— speak up and make your voices known to our Governor, Secretary of Education, representatives and superintendents. Share this with your friends. Advocate for diversity and inclusion. Protect our LGBTQ+IA kids. #Vermont #Education #DEI

Love #JonKlassen, truly a king of picturebook creators

Did you know a lot of 19th c paintings don't look anymore as their makers intended? They used a lot of light fugitive colors such as lake colors (reds, pink) that are beautiful when fresh but quickly fade. Cf Van Gogh. Once the color is gone you can only do digital reconstruction

Setting up to learn my first ever #LooneyPyramids game, Volcano. I wonder if there is a solo variant? These pieces are fun to photograph. What game is on your table recently? #Volcano #PyramidArcade

Beautiful stuff here, although I am bad Quaker, so I most definitely will be playing Laser Tag with my kid rather than having them referee. #Quaker #PeaceTestimony #QuakerParenting

This is a really fun solo game. I'll update my review once I've played the new map. It is very cheap with printer friendly versions or you could just play it on a screen. giantbrain.co.uk/2025/03/06/5...

Happy (early) birthday to me! I am unboxing the Looney Pyramids gaming system. If you know it, what are your favorite games? Which would you avoid? #LooneyPyramids #PyramidArcade #Homeworlds #AndrewLooney #IceHouse #IceHousePyramids #IceHousePieces #Boardgames #AbstractStrategyGames

My hometown hosted a Buster Keaton Festival, and Friday night showings of Keaton shorts and longer works were the best, particularly when accompanied by live musicians.

Musher Quince Mountain was withdrawn from the Iditarod under the race’s rule on competitiveness, but ended up driving a small team to the finish line in Nome anyway.
