I love stuff like this. In the 80s had a practice room with valve amps, leslie speakers, tape loop machines, etc. Had a fine collection of crazy guitar pedals built by other people. One sounded like a church organ and was housed in a tobacco tin !

Brilliant photo. Man, I miss the 70s. I miss phone boxes, address books, hanging out on the streets, hitching lifts, leaving the house to find new things, the intidyness, the uncertainty ... never thought I'd say that.

I bloody love this woman. Wish there was a link - I'd happily pay her groceries for a month

We live in a giant casino. We kid ourselves that every little win is down to our intelligence, but deep down, we know the game is rigged.

I'm Jealous ... nothing but jogging ubermensch and handbag dogs round here (Clapham, London) -
I'm originally from the craziest punk-ass neighbourhood England ever had (Hulme, Manchester) ... I'll never acclimatize ...

I remember reading about a London Anarchist club being raided in the early 30s and over a hundred people getting arrested for carrying unlicensed firearms. Ah ... the good old days

He was a brilliant photographer ... only discovered him this last year or so - I blogged about him here - www.newwavepublishing.com/Andre_Kertes...
(taught myself to restore old prints as part of the photomontage work ... tricky stuff - it can end up looking like AI if you overdo it !)

Brilliantly rendered and unsettling.
I have small (2") netsuke masks dotted around my home ... this wouldn't look out of place

Something wonderful and dreamlike about underwater scenes ... like the first time I went swimming with an old punk mate in Sicily. When you've grown up swimming in murky UK waters, it can blow your mind. Great colours. At the risk of sounding like an ad - can't believe it's made with oils

Love this. It's got that 'fantastic tales' feel about it. Great colours

Just wanted to say thanks, guys. Been a fan for a while now. Great to find inventive work in a very barren landscape ... even online

Would be interesting to revisit those people from 45 years ago. The ones who looked at you like you were ill in the head for suggesting bigotry wasn't cool. That it might be a good idea to eat less meat, that voting changes nothing. Patience wins the argument ... maybe another 10 years from now ...

Developementalism is crazy. Spoke German as a toddler (German mum) read in English (very early reader) ... If only you could bottle that kind of neuroplasticity in later life

Reminds me of an 80s exhibition my friend did. She placed lots of medical implements on 4 walls. Every now and then she put in an obscure vintage kitchen utensil ... just to give it that unsettling edge ...

Like all the best surrealism, it makes sense, without you being able to explain why
