I began driving in the '70s. If I didn't know where I was going already, I looked at a map to see which road to start out on, then went that way, observing the signs and other topographical indicators along the way. Served (and still serves) me very reliably. I have still never used GPS yet.

Haven't heard of them in very rural neighborhoods like mine, either. One, it's not worth their time, because two, there's no exposure out in hillbilly country. No cameras, nobody to report it, so nobody hears about it, so no fear is created.
Because that's what this is all about: creating fear.
