Yes, I still remember when Duolingo marked an exercise of the Russian course as "wrong" because my sentence was just lacking the full stop at the end. As an app, it has improved over the years, but now it seems to be going backwards

The issue here is also that the ad was playing DURING the very Grand Final streaming on Youtube, no other country goes this far with advertising
comment in response to post
their Youtube ads were playing during the live streaming of the Grand Final as well, though, which makes it way too invasive and crosses the line between advertising and spamming

We have one in Sanremo but they usually have terrible taste, however I could see it as a way to even out jury and televote and tone down potential televote rigging or jury corruption (which has also been a case in 2022)

exactly, and the song only charted well on Itunes in Israel, where it peaked at #1, but in other countries and platforms the charting is completely different. By comparison Espresso Macchiato, which was only 1 point behind, is doing much better

I get what you mean, but that would also erase the first ever winner of Filipino descent in Eurovision history, so for this year I'm happy with JJ. But if the EBU doesn't take any measures next year it could very much happen

Here's one of the reasons (@rebelalliance77.bsky.social shared it first in a comment section)

There are people who live in Israel and bragged on social media about voting for their own country using VPNs and several credit cards from other countries, the only voting method allowed there is through the website/app so it adds up

I would also add: swap your sponsor with a non-Israeli company or a company that doesn't support genocide, there's plenty of beauty companies that fit these two standards

I really regretted not giving all my votes to Tommy Cash, he was behind the genocide state by only one point (as if my singular votes could produce a whole additional point by themselves). At least last year they were surpassed one-two songs before getting to the first spot

Surely the first one of Filipino descent, not sure if it's the first Asian overall

thank you for clarifying, that's an interesting choice, especially because the 12 points didn't go to Italy

It's a weird voting sequence, but at least we have the good old Cypriot jury giving 12 points to Greece. I'm not sure if the guy was speaking Italian or French though, can someone enlighten me? #Eurovision

Vero, assurdo, e vogliamo parlare dell'Azerbaijan che ha dato anche 12 punti?

Sylvester Belt is such a good spokesperson, can we have him every year? #Eurovision

Silia Kapsis giving 12 points to Greece is so funny, even if she's not the spokesperson for Cyprus #Eurovision

Other 12 points to Germany? And Germany on the left side of the scoreboard? What a year #Eurovision

I was expecting Switzerland to do well with the jury but not Italy, but I'm not mad, both songs are so cute and wholesome

A genocidal state voting for another genocidal state, what a surprise #Eurovision
comment in response to post
First 12 points go to Austria, both in 2023 and 2024 the first country to get 12 points from the jury ended up winning the whole thing #Eurovision

Why has everyone in my feed become so bitter all of a sudden? Some entries that seemed loved during their semi-final have now become unbearable. Is it so hard to just vote for your faves without bringing other countries down? #Eurovision

Gabry Ponte overall got a good running order, a song like "Tutta l'Italia" is either made for the very beginning or the very end of the night #Eurovision

You can always count on France for a good ballad. #Eurovision

Okay, now I can see Sweden as a potential winner a bit more than on Tuesday #Eurovision

I can't help but simile at Sissal's performance, she dragged Denmark to the Grand Final for the first time in the 2020s exceeding every expectations, but she refuses to slack even when she could be more "relaxed", I hope this paves a way for more Danish excellence in the future #Eurovision

I'm still in awe because of Napa, "Deslocado" the song that you are #Eurovision
