@daveawl.bsky.social I've been meaning to ask you for a while now what you think about this, as I know you're a longtime fan of the band.

The man who first commissioned 'Have I Got News For You' for the BBC deserves to be remembered.

The wordsSHIFTminds album 'Landmarks And Illusory Ley Lines' turns four years old today. #music #synthwave #electronica #synths #retro #downtempo #bandcamp #youtube #itunes #applemusic #spotify

20% man, 80% slug.

Exactly. What was that prick doing there in the first place, other than wishing he was cool?

He's not exactly the world's most profound lyricist, but Richard Ashcroft's comeback single sounds impressive and impeccably produced - that low-end!

Feels like a good time to share this - Don McGlashan playing Anchor Me last week for RNZ, a stunning version youtu.be/qlAJjSpi5T0?...

I was about to start brushing my teeth this morning when, unbidden, my mind started singing: "This is the dawning of the Age of Precarious Age of Precarious PRE-CARE-EEEEEE-OUS!" Apologies to Galt MacDermot, Gerome Ragni and James Rado were not offered.

Well, she'll always be my Prime Minister.

What happens when Republicans, Tories and Conservatives shed their skins and they inadvertently reveal what's in their reptilian minds.

Luxon relaxed about allegedly drunk minister (insert incident) says (insert name) could have expressed (him/herself) better. #nzpol

Fifty bucks says Luxon will be comfortable and relaxed about Chris Bishop's behaviour.

Damn straight. I wouldn't be still here if it wasn't for Don. When my NZ permanent residency was declined in 1997 (the points pass mark went up by one of the eve of my application), Don wrote a letter in support of my appeal. He is God to me.

Interesting choice by the coalition of cloaca to allow a philistine like Chris Bishop to attend the Aotearoa Music Awards. He wouldn't know music if it fell on him like Don McGlashan's baby grand piano from a 14th-floor window. But dreams are free.

Don's classic song 'Toy Factory Fire' is one that growth-obsessed, "business before the people who elected us" Tory dickheads would do well to digest before they start mouthing off about aspects of life they don't understand - art, culture, empathy, etc.

Kudos to Don McGlashan, who has more class than Bishop has the intelligence to dream of.

Another thing about the social licence is that you have a choice. Don't buy Fonterra products.

Rod Drury donated to National Party: "Donations were made "not looking to buy influence, but looking to be heard," he said. Donating and attending dinners with politicians present could help to get ideas in front of politicians." Other countries call it cash-for-access. www.rnz.co.nz/news/in-dept...

It's less than ideal that they don't also email you a copy of your submission, or at least a link to wherever you can find it. That would be best practice. And the search engine on Parliament's website is also suboptimal.
