Call Dan Dare! He’s the man to do it. A man before his time. (I declare an interest… I had a pair of Dan Dare wellies when I was 5, so I am prejudiced).

I don’t think you’ve been put in charge of deciding who’s right or wrong on this issue.

It is, but not the only one.

None of that is. But flaunting a Hezbollah flag does, although Kneecap has prudently now said it does not support Hamas or Hezbollah. But naming yourself after a brutal terrorist punishment action also tells a story.

That’s cleared a few things up.

You seem to have a problem with the exercise of free speech I’m not criticising ā€˜everybody else’. But it ought to be possible to sever support for Palestinians from support for their reactionary & oppressive leadership who are now one of many obstacles to peace & Palestinian national liberation.

Very few have: most (football fans for example) haven’t. It’s welcome of course, if limited & shallow. And also selective. I don’t see much solidarity with the people of Sudan, for example, the world’s worst humanitarian crisis where 25 million people need food aid.

I’m entitled to comment on anything here!! Also, I note you overlooked my reference to the glorification of punishment shootings? Part of the vile repertoire of brutal repression by the Provisional IRA. Do you not see a connection?

If by ā€˜them’ you mean Hamas, I abhor them & do not support them or their vile actions which have set back progress towards full Palestinian statehood, possibly for ever. If ā€˜them’ is the Palestinian people, I stand with them unreservedly, as I always have.

No. I don’t. It’s an apolitical bandwagon. Where were all these newfound supporters of the Palestinians & other victims of oppression before? My support for the Palestinian people stops at support for their reactionary leadership which bears considerable responsibility for the current carnage.

There’s something profoundly ironic about the hashtag #standwithkneecap. Standing after a kneecapping was a bit difficult. I disagree that glorifying vicious punishment shootings in N. Ireland or supporting Hizbollah (or Hamas) represents ā€˜courage conviction & integrity in the face of injustice’.
