My mom made my brother take me to a Monkee’s concert. Don’t judge—I was 12. The opening act was Jimmy Hendrix. I was blown away. It changed my entire view of music. Hendrix quit after only 7 appearances with the band. I am so lucky to have seen him live.

My brother is very ill but I refuse to go to the US because my husband must accompany me due to my disability. He is Mexican and a dual US (for 4 decades)-Mexican citizen. But I refuse to put him in danger, no matter the circumstances. Fuck Trump and all his enablers.
