Sounds exactly like the old ‘communist ideology’ to me.

Were they the first or the last 70?

That would be the ‘sheeple’ our right wing friends complain about all the time so.

Or just don’t bother using them - ever.

I look forward to visiting Kyiv when Ukraine is no longer under siege. Have been to Lviv and loved it. Kyiv and Odessa are on the list, but didn’t make it before the invasion. Can’t wait to see the blossoming chestnuts - hopefully soon.

To be honest I think this is the way it should be. Leaders should ‘lead’ and not just blindly do as their constituents want. It’s their job.

Imagine having this little self respect or dignity.

Thank you for your article. It’s just horrendous and we sit back and do little. I hope Victoriia has found some peace. Time for our governments to do more.

The twist at the end made me laugh our loud. I needed that. Thank you.

Lots of support for you here in Ireland. Wish our govt would provide the assistance you really need.

Excellent video. Did you put it together? Compliments.

Can’t imagine what they must have gone through, but delighted they were reunited. A little bit of positivity in an otherwise horrible situation.

May be better in the short term to leverage the ‘coalition of the willing’, inc UK, and let EU laggards trail behind. Corralling 27 PMs is like herding cats, with a particularly pissy cat in the form of Orban. But Kallas needs to plan a better. Big admirer, but prior agreement is necessary.

Ahhh… Anna Karenina, what a great book. Thanks for the reminder.

He needs to look at Belgrade and Budapest. It’s his fan boys that are on the brink of destruction (hopefully). This guy is no friend of Europe and we need to act accordingly.

I remember the last time that kind of language was used when they called people ‘cockroaches’ in Rwanda. It was a call to arms.

Saw that and you could be right. Old enough to remember a large consensus that Putin wouldn’t invade in ‘22 despite the buildup on the border. Wishful thinking maybe.

Up to 3 months ago I’d have disagreed. China seemed to be genuinely taken aback by western reaction to Russia’s invasion. Now however, that’s out the window - so their calcs will have changed. They may be reticent though as they likely see an opportunity for more co-operation with Europe now.

Would that not depend on whether they’ve weaned themselves off Taiwanese microchips by then?

Understand the point, but I think I’d prefer him to attend and deliver the same message Macron, Starmer and Zelensky delivered this week.

Zelensky can hold his head high. More integrity, bravery and leadership in his little finger than those arseholes will have in a lifetime.

Pistorius is likely to play a big role in the new govt which s good for Ukraine (and Europe). Agree though that few politicians have shown as much passion for Ukraine as Baerbock and Habeck.

Merz and Pistorius may well provide just the leadership Europe needs right now. Fingers crossed.

Absolutely. No reason we can’t contribute financially. A lot of work to be done here to convince the population that this needs to be done. Our Euro allies backed us during Brexit and it’s time for us to stand in solidarity with our friends who feel under threat now.
