Some of my lists have my Raptors fighting alongside my Imperial Fists. Like Task Force Falconer, my Ironstorm list.

My Raptors are a Phobos skewed Vanguard Spearhead. Narratively, the ATVs provide spotting data for my Gladiator Lancers

And 60 points for 8 highly mobile wounds isn't too shabby for secondary work.

It's a reference to Charles Stross' Laundry stories. Using computational magic to replicate a basilisk's petrifying gaze... tested on cows, IIRC.

That's a whole different kettle of ball games, with an exhausting combination of caveats. Mostly around responsible consent, partners' blessings, and understanding about how creaky and performance insecure I might be rather than actual tabs and slots and genders.

Oh, I have plenty of opinions. Whether they're well founded, or rational, is up for debate.
Starting with "If you take Warhammer 40,000 seriously, you're probably doing it wrong." and working up from there.

Backtracing a sniper shot via necromancy and melting the shooter's face off?
I can't claim credit for that one, but it's a neat concept

I've run similar in a shorter run. First encounter is just scenic hazards, second encounter adds a rogue synthetic, third gets a xenomorph onto their ship somehow and then shit happens

I want to run Alien as a reasonably long no xenomorph adventure. Then, when the players are complacent, suddenly xenomorph

I've been giving Fantasy AGE 2e a look for general sword and sorcery stuffs.
And setting the way back machine to WEG D6 Star Wars (2e R&E) for tramp freighter Sci-Fi.

Or anything based on it.
