I had happenstance applied on the same day as the order, with an expedited process, so I'll definitely let you know what comes back in a few weeks (if anything.)

And that's been what's wrong with so much of how NYT and other anti-trans media have approached this: they're acting like trans people are making demands for MORE rights when we're really mostly just asking for our EXISTING rights to not go away. It's a sleight of hand. They know what they're doing.

Which is why, instead of communicating through private, encrypted channels, they post "code" in public spaces, you see.

You found the point, well done!

If this were true, he'd be directing state and local law enforcement to protect Californians instead of collaborating with ICE under the guise of "keeping the peace"

I can't handle how cool this is

I'm not talking about differences of opinions. Please read what I'm saying more carefully; the problem is that his positions change based on what will give him the best path toward electability. He says what he needs to in order to win, regardless of his actual beliefs.
comment in response to post
The problem isn't that he's imperfect, it's that he's untrustworthy. His stances shift with whatever will make him the most electable, and he's always been that way. Now he's banking on "enemy of your enemy" optics, and that's all.

Hey, you finally made it! Make yourself at home πŸ₯°

Oh dang, I can't rely on a weird anti-immigrant kid on the Internet, that sucks so bad, dang

It's not a zero-sum game, babes.

Yeah, I should advocate for my cause in the place where I've been dogpiled by hundreds of people calling me slurs without recourse. Thats how you affect change.

They should invent a way to inform readers what an article is about, then. A topic line they could present at the head which would give some idea and invite readers to read further.

Oh, no it's fine actually, they have a permit.

Seriously, like what do they think the long term results of "fistfight the feds" is going to be? Do they think if they knock one out, the gestapo just go home? "Pack it up, boys, he won." Power fantasy ass

Rage bait is so boring, kid.
comment in response to post
Of course. Rather than determining root causes and addressing those, they devise a way to profit further off of the symptoms. How predictably exploitive.

Imagine considering yourself the moral high ground while advocating that a woman kill herself for voicing grievances against an unjust system. This is embarrassing behavior, my man.

Brilliantly written; thank you for laying it out plainly for those who don't realize the severity of the situation

Happy Estroversary! It's hardly fair to look so good AND have only correct takes, but here you are πŸ’›

Yes, I did, and yes, I can. I'm not doing your homework for you but here, they even linked the research source. Educate yourself. (Now comes the part where instead of caring about the subject and reading, he accuses me of not fulfilling his demands!) link.springer.com/article/10.1...
comment in response to post
No, you did give arguments. They just don't hold up under those made by actual experts in the linked article you were provided. If anything, you're doing that which you accuse everyone else of doing.
comment in response to post
Hey man, what do you think "prove wrong" means? What do you think it means when experts in the subject unilaterally disagree with a take from a layman?
comment in response to post
That's one of the problems with being such a small minority. Our allies totally outnumber us. So even if they think they're helping, they're going to talk over us and what we actually want is going to be drowned out by what other people think is best for us
comment in response to post
Allegedly. But what's your point? Whether that's true or not, the fact remains that lives were saved by the act, which is what's being said here.
comment in response to post
I mean ideally CEOs would change policy so that the lives would be saved without the need for that incentive.

You feel really strongly about this

Hey what if you didn't base the entirety of your happiness on having sex in the first place?

Oh, well you see, you've only spouted the usual maga party lines the whole time, and in addition to being nonsense, it was really boring too. But yeah I'm going to mock weird transphobes, because bigots shouldn't know peace

Be optimistic if you like, but it's irresponsible to tell others who are in greater danger than you perceive that they should chill about it. I hope you're as privileged as you sound, and stay safe, I do. But please understand that there are people with better grasps of political implications.
