I think it's clear that many leading Democrats have at least made the decision that this is not an issue they wish to fight on.

Mmhmm, I assumed so. :P

Sounds like I can plank for longer than Jags, anyway.

And, likewise, we should respect the professionals and institutions who use credible methods and personnel to answer questions we cannot answer ourselves. We should be humble enough to defer to experts operating in their field of expertise, and question them with both an open mind and patience.

Misinformation short-circuits critical thinking, and achieving robust advances in knowledge. It also removes agency from those consuming it, demanding they make decisions on the basis of poor information. I think we should all have the self-respect to be critical of our information consumption.

Perhaps the faulty conclusions prompted by misinformation act as a comfort blanket - a form of instant gratification - but it is one that is corrosive: reliance on it discredits authoritative sources, implying they cannot do better. What follows is a lack of trust in professionals and authorities.

Since when do you have normal friends anyway.

As usual with these long weekends, it feels like I want even more time out there. But I’m sure I will return next year!

AND I was lucky enough to go flying with @vulan.bsky.social. It was lots of fun and a great opportunity for me to experience flying in a smaller aircraft and have a go at trying out the stick. It showed me I could really enjoy flying it I take it up.

Of course, I also went to YLS for their anniversary event which was lots of fun! I enjoyed hanging out in their play space, having fun with friends in the crib and showing off our fursuits to the attendees.

Likewise I explored a few dive bars, went to a Red Cow restaurant, and enjoyed lovely brunch which @asmolpup.bsky.social was kind enough to treat me to. I also got to see the enormous Mall of America, walked around St Paul, and drove around Minneapolis.

It was my first time in MN, and the Midwest as a whole. As such, it was a very food-centric trip. From the Juicy Lucy, to fried cheese curds, and frozen custard, I got to enjoy many of the local dairy-based specialties.

Sent mine in right as the window opened! Would love to come back and do it again this year.

Tesla, Starlink - any company for which Musk is responsible must show him the door, and quickly. If they can't, he is opening them up to a world of political and economic risk from an administration that has shown it will use state power to pursue political enemies.

To all those who went out there saying "he's just throwing his heart out to the crowd" - was it worth it? Those of us who were paying attention saw this, and so much else, coming. And now you have defended the indefensible for a political project that has failed.

Unless it flew into some obscure nook, I'm sure it will be found when they walk the attraction each night. I reported it to lost and found immediately after leaving the atrraction and gave them a photo of it, so I will be optimistic for now.

As an exhibitor I walked into Moonlight with nobody checking either my wristband or crew pass. Fatal for an age-restricted 18+ event. Only time I was asked to show my crew pass was when I wanted to use the water cooler.
