ah a fellow slotkin hater she can only run for one senate seat at a time and the climate seems to weaken her somewhat. if they'd put her somewhere warmer it'd be her polling 30% for prez instead of buttigeig. I still wouldn't want to be lost in the woods within ten miles of her... territory, though

jeffries has no charisma and spent his early years in politics losing repeatedly to a muslim incumbent after cheaply trying to play his own christian faith as a feature. he holds the seat solely because the party funds him rather than someone else. kind of a sad existence

jeffries was probably told in no uncertain terms by the other NY zionist dems that if he didn't get in line, he'd be primaried out in 2026. people in a lot of those districts don't vote for a person, only a party. this is why those dems all loathe AOC so much, being the first to upend their rule

alexandria. it would be... prudent. very prudent. if you were to perhaps reconsider the dance maneuvers you're performing atop the esteemed and recently deceased rep connolly's grave. this intensive "twerking" is disrupting the soil and could impede the even growth of foliage. perhaps the macarena?

after all, if you spend money improving people's lives and economic, health and social outcomes, that leaves so much less money on the table to take for themselves

it would seem their brains were already broken as they approach the entire concept of political campaigning like it's a managed fund. entirely in financial terms. it's obvious what these people are motivated by and against - leftism doesn't leave nearly as much room for personal profit

like I often hear cis "allies" saying you can't just expect men to be able to point out misogynistic or transphobic beliefs/statements by other men and expect doing so to accomplish anything. but here you are doing the work we often wish those allies could bring themselves to do

tbh while it may sound weird, I'm a trans woman and am one of the small number who doesn't mind keeping her ties to masculinity. I was pretty okay at living as a guy when I did. and while not universal, often all it takes is being assertive and straight up with other guys to get them listening

it was 45 dollars, because I got to the source before opening and they arrived in their truck with this stuff in it so I bought it all and loaded it straight into my car before they could look at ebay so if it's dead, oh well still worth 200 or so for the boards etc

sadly while it powers on, the tube degausses and static clings dog hairs and styrafoam balls, and no visible damage outside, it gets no picture and the menu buttons are unavailable. maybe requires input but iirc these didn't while THE JVC did

once again disappointed when cops and EMS don't go down the bridal path

if jeffries and schumer keep headlining their act, athlete's foot will be more popular than the dems by the midterms

other countries have figured out ways to deal with and even rehabilitate some of the most dangerous offenders, because they aren't motivated by profit

while there's unspoken hierarchy among inmates where those convicted of certain crimes are unwelcome in any crew, a system that relies on inmate numbers staying high to perpetuate itself is one even the worst inmates are fuel and fodder for. it tries to strip us of our humanity. it must be destroyed

I've been in jail (long before transition) and don't recommend it to anyone for any reason. it's not meant to be pleasant, but the american carceral system is designed to extract labor from its population to benefit state and private interests, rehabilitation is an afterthought. they want you back
comment in response to post
we cease to be human to those who operate and guard prisons. to them we're commodities to be bought and sold to placate troublesome inmates, to act as a magnet for aggression so other inmates are easier and more predictable to handle we become an essential tool keeping the system killing us running

but given the dance the original films did with whimsy where even in this vast futuristic civilization, there was room for wit in a firefight or a droid to act as a slapstick palate cleanser - it's when this is abandoned that the movies and shows start to suffer, dark or not.

I tend not to believe anything lucas says about his original intent or plans which was said by him any time after the prequel trilogy's announcement, as a guy willing to retcon his core characters' morality in the editing room is probably willing to conjure up backstory to flesh his art's intent out

to be fair people say this about trek all the time; there's a fanbase that can appreciate cloying optimism and a fanbase that can appreciate dark fatalism. in trek's case they usually repel one another like similar poles of two magnets, except all agree section 31 was garbage and enjoy lower decks

and evidence for the ban being a direct cause of mass shooting reduction was stretched, inconclusive and unable to be utilized in any material manner. so the ban expired and nothing changed. subsequent similar democrat led measures have cratered
comment in response to post
funny thing about clinton's AWB was that the most obvious indicator it was intended as do-nothing legislation to make it seem like democrats were doing something - was that almost nobody did any research on its effects either no grants were given, limited data kept, etc only mass shootings dropped

so these morons think they can have the tacticool look and intimidate people and garner respect. becoming someone respected takes a lot of time and effort, becoming someone merely feared is easy. but they aren't anywhere close to the same

it's like people don't "get" what happened to make vader look, sound and act the way he does. but since the narrative gets told out of order you see cool badass dark evil vader then last moment redemption vader, before you see anakin skywalker. and that severely dulls the impact of anakin's downfall

given that it's MPD I'd be wondering how many officers are moonlighting as ICE or ICE contractors in their off-hours, should the private security gigs running protection for small businesses or guarding supermarket dumpsters dry up

idk never accept any assurances from a prosecutor that aren't in writing, and even then never be too sure the judge won't be a gigantic transphobic ass with a "mischief managed" bumper sticker on his AMG G63

manslaughter plea, possibly shit PD/lawyer as the sentencing range is really wide for that based on circumstances. lawyer probably felt assured sentencing would be lenient in the 3-6 range, instead they threw the book at her

if chuck schumer could exist in multiple places at once, at least three of them would be four figure per plate fundraiser dinners. two he'd be soliciting at and one he'd be handshaking at for cory booker, but he'd have dodged paying the entry fee himself
