FYI, I heard the airport in Lisbon is quite busy right now. You may want to check the news before you leave.

They should have a few plain, white loopwheel tees from Japan. Hopefully, some other colors or patterns will be reasonably priced as well.

Sorry. No offence intended. You have a pretty goofy personality on here.

Did you see Nicky Boy's recommendation for Two Thirds?

Thank you very much for that! Portugal is on my bucket list.

See if Son of a Stag has anything that catches your fancy. A lot of their stuff should be from either the EU or Japan. Likely there will be some ridiculously expensive things, but it looks like they have more affordable things, too. The clothes they carry should last a good long time, too.

Some day, if I'm every in Europe, I hope to try their clothes. Portuguese Flannel's, too.

Ah, I see. I'm more of a novel > short story kind of person.

I've yet to read any Holmes stories--something I will remedy one day.
For Furst, so much of his characters' travel around Europe during WWII centered on trains.

Anything he published from 1995-2006 (books 3-9) is solid gold. His first two novels were a bit shaky as he hadn't really found his voice. Standouts for me were Kingdom of Shadows, Dark Voyage, and The Foreign Correspondent. Avoid anything published 2012 (book 12) or later.

I literally just heard of Labubu yesterday from one of my 2nd-grade students. But I misheard it as La Poo-poo. I told the little girl to put her poo-poo in her book bag, and the whole class was giggling for several minutes afterwards. 😁

Also, better hope @harkaway.bsky.social doesn't see this. He may flip his lid. 😁

Just wait til you read tomorrow's news headlines about Hitler and Gandhi meeting in Geneva to discuss building more fab plants for semiconductors.

That says a lot about society, actually.

I think I'm missing a reference here.

To be fair, everything modern has a very different vibe from that of the '80s. Not just special effects, but the pacing and plotting, too.

Yours is a fair point. I grew up on a farm--drinking raw milk, by the way--and farmers don't have time to mess around with individual customers...unless you pay them for their time. Pay a premium for said raw milk, and they'll accommodate. It is a business after all.

I remember seeing it, getting to the point where Tom Cruise catches the guy in the hotel room, checking my watch thinking it must be almost over, only to hear the guy say, "You're not going to kill me. They said you would kill me." And then realizing the movie was just getting started. Well played!

I've never read Grossman. What's his writing like?

Different, but the one I place more emphasis on. It's less likely to cause problems for others.
