Whether or not you take LBC to court, I hope you get that fella I like to call "Smears Morgan" to apologize to you on air.

The audience is quiet for 20 seconds when he's reading the Tweet, and only burst out laughing when he says "They're all dead now!". It is exactly what they cheered. I was a huge Colbert fan, esp. with The Colbert Report. But now he's a corporate media tool. Open your eyes and see.

Here's Stephen Colbert telling a joke about the Iranian negotiators. When he says "They're all dead now!" his audience laughs and cheers. Vile. Sickening. And we thought Israeli TV was bad. Colbert has ruined his legacy. History will judge him on this, and won't be kind. Rightly so.

Also note how in the full show ALL the "Iranian" "callers" to his show were pro-Israel...riiiiiiight...I mean they didn't have to make it this obvious... They have a very long contacts list of Iranian dissidents, no doubt...

James O'Brien: Despite Gaza, maybe we should give Israel the benefit of the doubt on Iran. Translation: Yeah Jeffrey Dahmer is a cannibal and serial killer, but maybe we should believe his claim that he's a good babysitter. Disgraceful, bad faith, a merchant of doubt, manufacturing consent...

This is a bit much. Calling Apple "cowards", talking about "courage"...quite a lot of hostility, when in reality Apple had a VERY good reason to decline to do 'The Talk Show Live' bsky.app/profile/zany...

I mean, would you agree to speak to anyone who said this about you? It was such a needlessly rude, insulting, and hostile comment by Gruber. I think he's burnt his bridges with Apple for good.
comment in response to post
You're way off the mark. Apple had a very good reason to decline the interview - this comment by Gruber aimed at Tim Cook (and others): "I wonder too, what taste Cheetos-dusted 78-year-old testicles leave in one’s mouth. Whatever the flavor, I hope it lingers." daringfireball.net/2024/11/i_wo...

If a form of punishment is permitted, all that matters is where you draw the line beyond which the punishment is meted out. The fact that the punishment can only be imposed on a subset of the population, well, that's not your fault is it? When actually that's the point you're trying to highlight.

An effective way to protest this would be to call for citizenship to be stripped from the likes of Suella Braverman, Sajid Javed, et al. If challenged, just claim it's not racist since it's legally possible, and you just want to revoke the citizenship of really obnoxious people.
comment in response to post
Well, that's why non-white people can't really be English, even if they consider themselves to be English. There's no circumstance in which English people can be stripped of citizenship. I reckon it's like this on prupose, and for this reason - to keep them on top. Am NOT saying it's a good thing.

Ah yes, a flawed attempt to reclaim the narrative. Because we should trust The Guardian to set the narrative as they're so unbiased, fair and sympathetic, yes? With "friends" like these we wonder why Harry thinks the UK establishment wishes him harm... www.theguardian.com/books/2023/j...

Yes, obviously that's the one and only time The Guardian has attacked Harry 🙄 Is he fair game because it's just "privileged pain"? www.theguardian.com/books/2023/j...

I mean, when The Guardian's own columnists have their knives out for Harry (and we can only wonder why), how can we expect better from The Sun? bsky.app/profile/theg...

Bingo? Did you even read it all the way through? He's painting Corbyn in a favorable light! Surely YOU of all people would go to the ends of the earth to avoid doing that...

Well I did say "potentially". Obviously the AI wouldn't be trained on The Daily Mail or the Murdoch press. I imagine it would also be guided by Asimov's 3 laws of robotics or similar. The point is it's possible. And probably the only hope for our planet. Human politicians are completely useless.
comment in response to post
All seeing, all knowing, can't be bribed, no bias based on race, religion, ethnicity, nationality; making decisions for the greatest common good. Potentially, of course. They'll never let it happen though. AI can replace the little ppl, not the ones higher up. They'll never give up their power.
comment in response to post
Time and again, humanity's biggest failings have been in politics. The absolute worst of humanity operates in the realm of politics. So if AI took over politics, it would actually be a good thing.

Is Marina auditioning for the Daily Mail? Such venom. She seems to be counting on the fact that no one reading her column will have watched the full interview with Harry, so she is free to spew out this angry and hateful nonsense. She kinda proves his point that the establishment wish him harm.

I'd be curious to see the correlation of Rupert Murdoch's presence in a country, and the right-ward tilt of its politics, and the downward tilt of its social cohesion, trust levels, and accuracy of widely held beliefs. It's all academic though. Nothing's going to change. It's too late.

Like what Trump is doing, but in defense of truth, not attacking it obviously. The cowardly capitulation to the right-wing press is going to be the death by 1000 cuts of the UK. The drip drip drip of right wing poison and lies into the bloodstream of public discourse will be the end of us all.
comment in response to post
Progressive all the way. For which they'll need to be more combative with the right-wing press. Pull them up, call them out, take them on. Leveson 2.0. The fact-free zones of opinion columnists that dominate the UK right-wing media needs to be challenged one-by-one daily if anything is to change.

Exactly - there haven't been many Labour govts, for a reason. See thread below. Labour has never been socialist because it has never been allowed to be. And it gets increasingly constrained with each passing year. Which is why they're indistinguishable from the Tories atm. bsky.app/profile/zany...
comment in response to post
By being Labour, not Tory-lite. Learn the lesson from the USA i.e. if you suppress Bernie Sanders, you'll get Donald Trump. They suppressed Jeremy Corbyn and are cosplaying the Tories, so Nigel Farage is looking inevitable atm.

"The paper was a key part of the 'anti-semitism crisis' that engulfed Corbyn’s leadership. From 2016-19, the Guardian published 1,215 stories mentioning Labour and anti-semitism, an average of around one per day." www.declassifieduk.org/exclusive-je...

You reap what you sow. Suppress Bernie Sanders, get Donald Trump. Suppress Jeremy Corbyn, get Nigel Farage. Of course you can count on The Guardian and Marina Hyde (aka the left's Sarah Vine) to feign outrage, when actually they either don't really care, or secretly wanted this all along.

Suppress Bernie Sanders, get Donald Trump. Suppress Jeremy Corbyn, get Nigel Farage?
comment in response to post
If the choice of PM was between Farage and Corbyn, I genuinely think James would prefer Farage. It's not that hard to imagine when you hear his derision and absolute contempt of Corbyn whenever he talks about the left. Corbyn's "sins" and failings being unforgiveable compared to Farage's I guess.
