Ok, *this* is best comparative stat, members of media: The DC Pride parade one week ago had a bigger turnout.

Even the Russians are mocking Trump’s disaster of a parade. This one’s going to sting.🤣

Call your congresspeople. Much of these are popular recreation areas. This is a way to privatize the places that people hike and camp in. Once we lose these areas we never get them back.

After abandoning every mitigation and infecting kids repeatedly, our media wants to know: why do so many children have Long COVID? My latest looks at the newest research, the comforting lies that just won't die, and how we got here: www.thegauntlet.news/p/long-covid...

So ask yourself, did you see anything about this in the initial coverage of Brian Wilson’s death? And if not, why not? Its not coincidence. uk.news.yahoo.com/brian-wilson...

Via ABC News's Rachel Scott, let's never forget for a minute what a classless scumbag the President is. x.com/rachelvscott...

I'm trying to imagine a Democratic president saying openly and proudly that he would be sending federal agents to target the 'Republican Power Center' in Texas, Florida, and Tennessee. We would be in the midst of a civil war before he'd finished saying those words.

Bay Area reporters: - Remember: The plan to build new tech-run cities is called the Network State. The idea is based on Curtis Yarvin's infamous "patchwork" essay, which Balaji Srinivasan rebranded as the "Network State." "Freedom Cities" is propaganda branding. Don't buy it.

Two of the three states with the largest population of people in the U.S. illegally are the red states of Texas and Florida. Trump, notably, does not name their cities when calling on ICE to execute more aggressive immigration raids. He does, however, name LA, Chicago and New York.

this new directive will heavily affect garment workers, as they are based in these cities

Our unofficial crowdsourced estimate of yesterday’s protest turnout is rising to 4.2-7 million as we gather more data. At this point potentially the second-largest single day of protest in U.S. history! www.gelliottmorris.com/p/no-kings-d...

Sen. Rand Paul: "I just never liked the idea of the parade because I grew up in the '70s and '80s and the only parades I can remember are Soviet parades or North Korean parades...Then there's the cost, I mean we're $2 trillion in the hole. I'm not for it."

nypost.com/2025/06/15/u... Accused Minnesota assassin Vance Boelter’s wife detained after traffic stop — cops find passports and weapon in car: report

MAGA terrorist Vance Boelter is a far-right missionary who launched verbal attacks on trans folks preaching that “people don’t know what sex they are because the enemy has gotten so far into their mind and their soul.” This is what’s radicalizing killers: extremist Christian nationalism in action.

If you are not familiar with the term "pluralistic ignorance" you might find it fascinating to listen to this podcast episode. It's related to what Naomi mentions below, and helps explain why there's a delay in people in "red" areas realizing everyone has turned, and why protests help change that.

Soon, your morning glass of OJ will have even less fruit in it as Florida expects its worst orange harvest in nearly a century

As I expected.

A million little acts of resistance…

@drericding.bsky.social

I think a good rule of thumb is if your preferred source of news referred to yesterday's protest as "tens of thousands" and not "millions", you need to find a different news source.

And to be clear, our troops were in no way responsible for yesterday’s parade fiasco. They had to show up. They couldn’t be forced to show enthusiasm they didn’t have, however.

Sign of the day…

The Tea Party protests in April 2009 had about a third of a million people involved, and the political media treated it like a game changer for the Obama presidency. The No Kings rallies were AT LEAST ten times bigger than the Tea Party protests. Will the press keep pretending Trump is popular?

There’s growing evidence that former officers with troubling histories of abuse can easily find second careers in private security.

None of my mean tweets today even come close to the review President Trump’s face gave his low energy parade.

In the mid-1730s, Elizabeth Blackwell did something that no one like her had ever done. Over the course of two years, she became the first British woman to produce a fully illustrated herbal — a kind of encyclopedic botanical reference guide — for commercial sale.

"Whooping cough in newborn babies, it’s awful,” she said. “They get this massive white cell count, their lungs get clogged. They get clogging of the blood vessels in their brain and their hearts give up. You stand at the end of the bed in intensive care and can do very little about it.”

This is huge. The Trump administration wants to vastly expand the practice of shipping people to random countries they have never been to before, and are now making this part of a threat; either the countries accept taking third country nationals, or they get banned from visas.

This is journalism malpractice 101, and it should be taught in J-schools as such. What in bloody hell does "widely accepted mean"? It's not "widely accepted". It's true. The other alternative is false. Full stop.

According to the latest WaPo/Schar School poll, Trump’s handling of deportations has 37% approval, 52% disapproval. And Quinnipiac has it at 40% approval, 56% disapproval. But @facethenation.bsky.social insists “public approval is so high on deportation.”

We once thought smoke from wildland fires was no big deal because it was "natural." However, over the last 20 years or so, I can't think of one bit of science that hasn't shown urgent and increasing concern about the risk of smoke exposure. 1/

This is serious, rigorous analysis and it should change the way the media has been covering these protests. These were, in the aggregate, *massive.*

UK study of 68 people with long COVID found that oxygen uptake dropped from 0.73 to 0.68 L/min and work rate fell from 28 to 24 W just 24h after light exercise, pointing to impaired oxygen use even at low intensity. physoc.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1113/...

Conservative protests are always treated as an organic cry of anger that manifests the distress of the unjustly ignored American heartland; protests from the center-left are always written off as noise from inside the bubble.

Trump turns 79 today. He is not only the oldest person ever inaugurated as president, but older today than three of our four living former presidents -- older than Obama (out of office for 8 years), Bush (out of office for 16 years, and Clinton (out of office for 24 years).

Holy crap! They played Creedence Clearwater Revival’s song “Fortunate Son.” Someone is clearly mocking Cadet Bonespurs. Someone is going to be shot. Here’s the original version with lyrics!😂🤣
