So we're going to explode the workforce as AI (and, y'know, the EXCUSE it offers) is shrinking it. So... I mean, death comes to us all, am I right? *gags*

Dating just looks like a living hell these days. Watching my single friends deal with apps and immature manchildren and all that is awful. I applaud every single one of them who has just said "Nope" and walked away.

They’re waiting for the consultants… Maybe the Pod Save guys can help?

Because that would require empathy and apparently that’s asking too much of some of these chuckle heads.

So I got this insipid question/survey/ad on YouTube yesterday and thought of you. Because the desperation is palpable.

One of the highlights of working for a PBS station in the late 90s was being able to meet Red when he did a promotional appearance during pledge.

Yeah, I noped out of the Moffat era in the episode where Matt Smith asked “what is she?” about Clara. Just… no.

Thinking of a Firesign Theater bit: Explorer: “We’d like to place this cross on that over there butte.” Native American: “That is our sacred mound.” Explorer: “And right pretty it is.” [Read it out loud]

When the most fictional aspect of the series now is a Republican who isn’t a right wing nut job. *smdh*

As I recall, that was a regular feature on the old blog. People saying there’s no way a CEO would do [XYZ] and John basically saying “You sweet summer child.”

Oh come now, Edith Ann was infinitely more mature and intelligent.

I mean, given the reporting I’ve seen of college students relying on AI for homework, you’d think they’d be shoo-ins for jobs with AI.

Meanwhile, the book I'm ripping through now is literally Die Hard in space. BUT the author is using established characters, relationships, diving into politics and personal history. Throw all that in and I'm on the fun train!

Hell, my autistic brain gets bored with tropes. As much as I love Ocean's 11, if the book is just "Ocean's 11 in space", I check out. "But queerness! But non-Western culture! But..." But I can map out the plot to the chapter with no actual surprises.

So much of hustle culture is the replacement of real ambition to do achievable things (get a good job, have a family, enjoy reasonable luxuries) with a cargo cult of no-effort fantasies.

I want to see what happens when someone starts clucking at them. Just... quiet chicken noises. Watch these chuckleheads lose their minds at being mocked.

LLMs will do the least possible thing to produce content of the lowest caliber. And I’m supposed to be impressed by that? Get the fuck out of here…
