In a new-ish bookshop on Northside (ILYSM Books), I scored a book of New Yorker cartoons and illustrations from their first 25 years--1925 to 1950. Some of the humor escapes me, but all of the drawings are incredible. This one by O.Soglow still rings true.

new litter of homonculi hatched 🥹

My efforts to find illustration work in RPGs have petered out at the moment--luckily, because I have some other freelance jobs. Freelance work comes from odd, unpredictable places, and I have to take it when I can. Right now I'm... : 1/4

Been catching up on new 'Blogs on Tape' episodes. Thanks @linkskywalker.bsky.social !! And there are plenty of old ones I haven't listened to yet. It's nice to listen to OSR blogs while I'm drawing or riding my bike, ya know?

Hey look what I got!

Maps! Maps for hire! Commission me to draw you a map!

Tonight, the first session of the Fantastic Cartography class I’m teaching! I made these four folding panels as examples of stages in the process of making a map by hand. 1. Brainstorm & thumbnail 2. Sketch 3. Transfer/refine sketch/ink 4. Shade, color, embellish #osr #map #fantasy #art

My interest in writing adventure modules and designing tabletop game systems is inextricably tied to Starcraft and Warcraft map editors, and RPG maker =). And also to drawing 'haunted castles' with my friends in elementary school. Also, 'Lemmings,' Worms Armageddon' and 'The Incredible Machine.'

For months now, I've been noodling around, playstorming a solo dungeon crawler game. I've tried a few different solo games and read a few, trying to learn how they tick.
