We all like a well placed fuck that hits the mark.

Poetry & music in my experience, & probably all other arts too, have many talented folk who only lack the contacts, the inclination, or the luck to be recognised. But recognition isn't everything. I also enjoy non league football & holidays in Filey. Sometimes the road less travelled is the best.

Well delivered. I can see the recovery. Love the bit about knocking over the flowers on the way out!

Bloody marvellous -as ever.

Haha -that’s ace Dave. I think I’ve spent more time wanting to be older than I have wanting to be younger.

Unnerving. I think a man like her has moved into my place

I shall certainly be integrating aspects of this one into the tegument of my thoughts

that poem has fire in its belly!

Very well observed. Are you from a seafaring background?

Thats a great take, with gentle touches of sadness and anger. Very memorable

hahaha - speaking as my father - I absolutely get it!

Wow. I like that! I thought it was a pretend car at first, a child cyclists game - and then the transition kicked in, and I saw the end of childhood!

Nice one - a twist in the tale!

Nice one. Fledged into a new order. I could do with a bit of that.

What a lovely piece, I like how you flirt with rhyme and package it all in tight metre.

Brilliant. From the neurological condition of the sixth form curtains to the palest blue dot of home you’ve blended science and biography into a fantastic reflection on a stressful period.

Lovely reflection on time, aging and death. I particularly like the melting ice cream cones. There should be more ice cream in #poetry.

And what is Acun going to say if he gets them promoted?

I usually use one near me. But had a flat whilst I was out the other week and could only make it as far as Kwik-Fit. Bunch of cowboys. Don’t even know how to spell quick, let alone be it.

Absolutely. Although it is very satisfying to politely but firmly tell the sales rep type bloke in Kwik-Fit that you don’t want a new set of tyres thank you very much, just sort the fucking punctured one out.

I know that feeling.

Thats amazing, really well put together, and hits the target.

I love the idea of imagination's trouser leg!

Teachers like that! I had plenty of those.

Excellent. I love a tree metaphor.

This is brilliant. A really good idea, and really well executed.

Beautiful. I seem to remember watching the 1970 World Cup like that.

I wondered why there were so few #poemsabout about. I thought that there was something wrong with my Bluesky app.

They would catch on to that in an instant. 😂

Thats a chilling piece - disquieting because it holds truth in it.

I knew the reference wouldn't be wasted on you. A cultural touchstone!

A very enjoyable poem, Paul. Pigeon fights are great fun. They seem such docile, benign creatures, if a bit on the greedy side, until they get into a quarrel - then all you need is a Kent Walton commentary to make the event complete.

nice - I particularly like Between Places.
