This little crested cactus was a cutting from an acquaintance. I haven't been able to identify the genus/species so far, but love the crested pups and unusual colors. #cactus #crestedcactus #succulents #plantsky #gardeningfeed

Hello Bluesky gardening friends! 🌱 I would love to hear your favorite plant PAIRINGS, especially if one or both are USA native plants. Canceling our yard service this year bcuz they make it impossible to grow wildflowers- everything got whacked! Prioritizing pollinators over tidyness in more areas.

This week's Autistic Nature article is all about why and how to use logs and branches to create homes for wildlife. Nature is messy -- all those logs and rocks provide homes for wildlife. If you clear it all, then you are removing homes for frogs, salamanders and other wildlife. 🌎 🌱

Our new indoor seed starting station is up and running. Seeds for the spring/summer garden have been planted. This is our first attempt at starting seeds inside rather than buying starts at the garden center. To be (hopefully) expanded in years to come. 🌱

First sign of color in the garden 💜💙 Iris reticulata. Must've been coming up under the snow as the moment it melted, here they are! Sweet little flowers, and this year they've bloomed even before the hellebores. Hope you all have a nice weekend! #gardenlife 🌱 #signsofspring #flowers

🌱Very interesting. Like juglone an allelopath secreted from Juglans nigra (Black Walnut), may be compatible plant families or genera. Lots more info online. Helianthus relatives also proven to be allelopathic include Zinnia violacea (syn. Z. elegans) & Cosmos bipinnatus. www.mdpi.com/2076-3417/12...

🌱So pretty❤️. They are such cheerful flowers and a welcome addition to any garden. Our Balloon Flowers differ slightly. I didn’t realize there was a pink variety also, so now I will be on the lookout for them. #Gardening #Bloomscrolling

Love finding old photos of gardens so you can compare them to the present. These are taken from 30 years ago, after just a few years from when the raised beds were installed. 🌱🌿💚 #Gardening

Hydroponic lettuce keeps growing. I will thin the pods with multiple plants once they get a little bigger. It helps the final heads grow and it’s a bonus preview of the flavor. 🌱

Dahlias divided 🌱. Should have done this last year, which made this time difficult. 2 big sacks containing 62 soon-to-be? plants. Not a label in sight 😂

Lembram da Alamanda roxa? Eu encontrei frutos dela em vários estágios! Os frutos apresentam aparência espinhosa como um ouriço e quando secam, se abrem liberando as sementes! 🌱

Wo kommst du kleine Blume den her?

Purple Balloon flowers in my garden last summer. I'm thinking about planting pink ones next to them this year. They're surrounded by sedum album (white stonecrop) ground cover, that'll bloom little star shaped flowers early summer. 🌱 #Gardening #Gardens #Flowers #Nature #Bloomscrolling #Photography

Let's see where this leads. Random sketching to ease my mind. Now an alternative concept for this portion of large garden attached to a mid-century modern house. Organic shapes and taking some influence for Roberto Burle Marx. Still developing this concept. #Garden #Design #Gardening 🌱

Green is my favourite colour in #Spring! I love the feather pattern on the banana plant leaf, and the stripy glow of the dracaena. The new coffee plant leaves are so incredibly shiny, and the daffodil shoots just make me happy. 🌱 #indoorplants #houseplants #green
