That little red box on the dash? That’s a young, mated queen bee, and her pheromones are so strong, this poor Texas beekeeper’s vehicle is filled with wild neighboring bees that can’t resister her. How will he empty his car? Glad it’s not me! 🌱 🐝

I suppose I could try to learn to love the little purple flowers on creeping Charlie since I can’t get rid of it and it’s taking over.🌱

Got all the #RaisedBeds ready for planting, including moving huge supports to different beds for rotation. Planted peas, radish, lettuce, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, broccoli, carrots. Ran out of potting soil so couldn't repot any more seedlings. Tomorrow is flowers & onions, garden supports. 🌱

What a joy to review Auckland’s Forest Restaurant’s deep friend Feijoa dessert for @thespinoff.bsky.social - it’s pure Kiwi nostalgia in a dish thespinoff.co.nz/kai/19-04-20... 🇳🇿🌱

Not in #Gardening shape for the season. But I did get a lot done. Some kind of nerve tweak in my neck with referred pain down my arm. Will break out the lidocaine & heating pad in a bit if muscle relaxants don't kick in. Arm/neck obviously wasn't prepared for all the hoeing I did today. 🌱

That’s wonderful! We did almost have two weeks straight of rain here, and now it’s been in the 70s which is warm for April, so it makes sense why. But still feels quite magical! 🌱 ✨

おはようございます あいかわらず体調すぐれず、猫ごはんは家人が起きたので、少しゆっくりめの朝。もう晴れて暑いのかと思いきや、雲多めで肌寒い ベランダではルイ14世の次の花が咲き、黒花フウロも2輪め3輪めが開花していた another flower of "Louis XIV" and two more flowers of Geranium phaeum are in bloom on my balcony this morning 🌱 @botanical.bsky.social #バラ #roses #geranium

My late brother was friends with the artist, Sascha Brastoff who passed in 1993. My brother received some of his ceramic art and also some big balls of these Tillandsia bergeri. The art has since been sold or donated but I still have the tillandsias which have been multiplying now for 32 years! 🌱

There are tulips blooming in the front yard now! Unfortunately the bunny has found them too.🌱

We're very close to being on the wrong side of a world war. We're at the final moments to act for our climate. Almost makes saving democracy feel hollow. Plant trees & focus on the small things you can do now. Grow your own food, plant a butterfly garden. 🌱

This is the other rooster; actually there are three roosters in the pen. He looks like a Curly Dee. What do y'all think? From observing them, he looks like the second in command. 🌱🧑🏿‍🌾🇰🇳 📸 #The_Eco_Spiritual_Experience

The marketing team said I should show me more. I wasn't impressed with their advice, and I don't know how long I can keep it up.😑 What do you think? This makes the experience more authentic or nah? 🌱🧑🏿‍🌾🇰🇳 📸 #The_Eco_Spiritual_Experience

Just planted the rose 🌱 clones that overwintered in the basement nursery. Such minimal root development.🥺 Can’t wait until their mother wakes up and I can cut her some more. I think she likes it.

I recycled (upcyled?) the glass shades from some old light fixtures that would have been tossed and turned them into funky birdbaths using plant stands as bases and now I keep staring out my windows hoping birds will come and find them.🥺🌱🐦

Strawberries have lots of new growth, leaves have just come out on the gooseberries, my haskaps are very close to breaking open, and the buds are just beginning to swell on my fruit trees. Would have thought the asparagus would be doing *something* by now. 🌱

0

Very concerned about my asparagus bed. I planted a mix of seed-started and crowns last year and they all seemed to be doing really well, but there is NO sign of them sprouting yet. I thought they were supposed to be the first thing to wake up in the spring? 🤔🌱

Should I do something/anything about this lilac bush? The branch that looks like I should have cut it ages ago is actually leafing/flowering like normal so I’ve left it. 1/2 🌱

🌱🌵 While only annuals I got some Cleome seeds. Why? Because they're C4 plants rather than C3. (This is part of what Dr Jones means about different plants.) An added benefit is they reseed themselves. Plus, they're just plain pretty. 12/

Rediscovered this when i put away my seed box. Its a hanging planter (brings twine and beads for the hanging portion)I painted at a pottery store i treated myself to one afternoon. Once i get the plant stand to hang things from this will be center piece 🌱🪴

🌱🌵 I'll be using a new MF inoculant I got a couple months ago to hopefully get the fungi started as I wouldn't be surprised if our soil were devoid given the extended drought & the fact the land has been a long-term pasture, thus bacteria laden. 11/
