2/ The Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act were hard-won victories, secured through protest, organizing, and legislation. But once again, SCOTUS reversed course, gutting key protections in Shelby County v. Holder.

3/ “Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation” appears 4 times in the Constitution following each voting rights amendment. Yet SCOTUS ruled in Shelby that Congress can’t enforce voting rights. Scalia even argued voting rights were "too political" for Congress.

4/ I'm hoping for the best, this Court has told us who they are and what they want. Granting Trump immunity is just the latest warning. American history is clear: Civil rights are won and protected through struggle, not granted but demanded.
