Regardless how it happened, the orange shit stain is about to take control and he’s not going to give it up again. There’s little indication he’ll be met with meaningful resistance from congress or SCOTUS, therefore scenes from South Korea look increasingly likely in the US.
I'd argue that scenes are increasingly unlikely, since the GOP are MAGA appeasers and it seems like so many Democrats are in denial and are talking about cooperation.
What we will see is video of people being threatened by jackbooted thugs.
Therefore relatively few people need to change their minds in order to vote them out. This isn't relevant to the next few weeks, but it may be relevant in the next few years.
My point was that hopefully the fine voters of SK don't decide to re-elect Yoon now that he has shown his autocratic bent...unlike one notable country.
SK has a much more robust democracy and a history of throwing former presidents in prison, and also people alive who remember the Gwangju massacre (which is what happened the last time a president declared martial law) so there's basically no chance of that.
My dad used to work for the coalition for human rights for South Korea in South Korea back when a dictator was in power. My father would be so proud of the South Koreans for standing up to corrupt dictators good for them.
I love Korean society. My Korean is elementary school level but I think what she's saying is "What are you doing? What are you doing? ...This isn't the way to be acting."
And the soidiers are responding (*in "jondemal" which is polite form of speech), they are saying (respectfully) "Please step
In a further clip I saw, the woman (who is a former news anchor woman turned politician) says "Aren't you embarrassed? Put down the guns! Aren't you even embarrasesed?"
Let's hope that our elected officials and the American people will have the courage and the fortitude when the time comes to oppose the dictates of Trump.
It hasn't come to that in this country (so far). I think that (both sides) have primarily behaved in a civil way politically. Most demonstrations have come from the "special or narrow interest fringe" (don't like using that word but it's what comes to mind) so have been limited in scope.

Our constitutional democracy is worth standing up for - even for the dumbest or ignorant of our citizens.
We are still all in the same boat.
Resist.

She used to be a news anchor I believe.
She's incredible.

PROTESTOR: (informal) I said let go! I said let go!
SOLDIER: (formal, repeated) Please let go.
PROTESTOR: (informal) Aren't you even ashamed of yourselves?!
(I want that 부끄럽지도 않냐?! emblazoned on a t-shirt.)
The protestor is actually a former spokesperson of the Democratic Party, Ahn Gwi-ryeong.
