Absolutely. My grandmother. So damn proud of her. Joined the WAC at 18. She had the coolest job: talking pilots back over the channel via radio when they lost radar. Doing some digging now to uncover more of her story

Not the same girl and a very different gun than the Thompson. That is a German machine gun as used by the WaffenSS, no doubt confiscated from a POW, raided from storage or taken off a body at some point.

It's only a rare photo because there are few resistance photos , if it is. Because of the FFI print on the car she is posing with while they casually discuss the news on the street I think this is post- liberation when the resistance became an auxiliary police force. Women with guns were not rare.
