I remember when a new version of Windows meant there would be all sorts of new features and the trailers would have a big song announcing the update and everyone waited in line for the new hotness and now your computer randomly reboots at some point and the update is you can no longer save files.

Nothing has improved with Windows in a meaningful way in many years. But it does keep getting more invasive and annoying.
Every update is a scramble to turn 95% of the new features off. Though maybe the target audience like them?
It might be an age thing. I don’t want messages or choices or automation. I want to do what I want to do, and I want to do it now LOL
They are good at designing but too rigid in terms of their need for control over the user experience IMO.
Apple works great as long as you ‘accept’ that Apple are right at all things and at all times, and that resistance is useless 😆
It might be like a cat vs dog thing
I'll try it out next time I format (which should be soon-ish by the looks of it)
Thanks!
They’ve actually been working double time to turn it into a subscription service.
It’s legitimately getting worse
There are bugs in the MS software that have been there since windows 95 (earlier?!), is this why you can never control software updates?
All MS software needs a swear filter - for the user!
But I do get your point.
Hey I grew up on Sonic and Loony Tunes, and I have a love of animation.
*okay fine, I had a thing for Lola Bunny and Bunnie Rabbot but I was a teen at the time so blame hormones :D
Wow, what a glow-up, Windows. From *'Start Me Up'* by The Rolling Stones to *'Shut Me Down'* by Nobody Asked. At this point, the only *new feature* I expect is Clippy rising from the ashes like a chaotic phoenix to tell me, 'Looks like you're trying to suffer. Need help?'
Microsoft favour those pastel spheres on a cone representing bland faceless identikit workers now* (* the last time I looked)

IMO - the internet killed software quality and, ergo, data quality. You can just patch stuff over the air! Sounds great! But it promotes and encourages trash output.
All reputable metrics of software and data quality back this up. Without exception.
We can actually fix that silly behaviour? I… just accepted it as the new norm.
Dayum.
Thanks internet stranger!

I’m sure many people just get the thing they have at work because they know how to use it. Quite an advantage.
Windows 10 demise might bring a few more customers to Linux Mint. To keep their old machine going
it's such a close call between my favs
notebook does suddenly not recognise build in microphone anymore
the memory SD slot can't be recognised anymore
not a single new Bluetooth device can connect
sound mixer changing output has no effect anymore
Sometimes you're looking at a new dialog box, sometimes it's from Windows 95.
I do wonder, does anyone ever look at what they’re selling?
Also, Windows: Oh you uninstalled Copilot, here we installed it again for you!
Me: Uninstalls Copilot again
