I haven't seen many British TV series in the last 3 years. But I have seen this, and the titles were always a pleasure to watch (and listen to). I particularly liked the way they changed as the plot developed.
Hmm, the standout one for me has to be the title sequence for Bad Sisters... a carefully filmed chain reaction of icons used throughout the series. And the series ain't too bad, either!
I think your following here is self selecting. I’d go with silent witness ( know it’s 20 odd series in now) or for comic relief and music of The Specials, Death in Paradise. Plus slow horses as already suggested.
I have been thinking since you asked.Dr. Who is the most dynamic.I watch police dramas these days. They seem basically cookie cutter not a lot of graphically dynamic or dramatic going on. Sadly.Even state side. I used to design title sequences and always have an eye out.
I also loved these titles & music (by Gazelle Twin) for a recent S4C drama. Titles are 2'47" in - simple but effective & unusual. It will be on Alibi in English soon (Mudtown) but the Welsh version is all here: Ar y Ffin, Cyfres 1: Pennod 1: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0kbpy65 via @bbciplayer
