Jesse Singal has openly declared that he is only present on this platform in order to harass and abuse users here. Permitting him to maintain an account here for this purpose is inexcusable.

TLDR: Bluesky is, right now, a relatively safe and usable place for trans people. Jesse Singal is on this site with the goal of changing that, as I interpret his own words. The Bluesky staff, by saying they won't take action unless he breaks a specific rule, are saying they're just fine with that.

In a nutshell, that only works against a single target. When it's someone whose career is to antagonise us and who has a small legion of agitators to point at us, the nuclear block loses its effectiveness. It's best for 1v1 encounters, not against a horde.

I mean, my suggestion when he showed up was to block and not engage, but from my perspective this wasn't about oxygen— I think a person with connections to major periodicals can find their own oxygen. My angle was "don't make yourself a target". A rule I'm now breaking, and I'm unhappy about that.
