I have another question for you, Lee. What does that mean for Trent? I thought we were getting a lcb like gvardiol type lb and so trent does the attacking if he stays. Even if he stays how can we play 2 attacking fullbacks?

Obviously there’s now a presumption Trent leaves. But as it stands he’s still here and RB position is strong. The LB position is probably an area that could do with attention if Robbo’s legs have gone.

Probably Tsimikas, he done a decent job this season whilst Robbo has struggled. Tsimikas is often caught out of position trying to get a ball he can’t get to, bit like Ibou in his first season but Robbo would still be a better back up if we were going after a new left back

I’m left scratching my head at this. Why would he want to swap Tsimikas, a player who’s very much integrated into this side, has loads of experience playing for a top club and in the champions league and has been in great form for Kerkez who has about 40 total appearances for Bournemouth…?

I get that but it looks like we’re trying to extend Robbo. So assuming he is going to stay. Swapping Tsimikas for Kerkez at this stage doesn’t make much sense. I suppose if Robbo doesn’t extend and our options become Tsimikas and Kerkez that makes more sense

All this being said, Kerkez feels more like a player at Tsimikas’ peak level than Robertson’s. Not sure what the market looks like at LB, but feel like we should be after someone with a ceiling closer to peak Robbo than peak Tsimikas if you know what I mean

He looked slightly better in that game granted, but on the whole he’s no where near the level he was a few seasons back and I think it might be partly down to being run into the ground season after season.

Depends on a couple of things imo. What’s Robbo being paid and is he happy not starting. I love Robbo but with the intensity he plays at, he’s had a huge workload over the years. He can be very useful but needs genuine competition and his minutes need reducing. If he is ok with that. Perfect

Older, declining pretty rapidly, much higher wages, not likely to be happy as a backup and out of contract in 2026.

Genuinely would sell both and buy two LBs. An attacking one and a defensive one so we can be more flexible.

I’d be made up to get Kerkez. Young attacking full back. Personally think Robbo’s days are numbered and Tsimikas just can’t be consistent enough to nail down a spot. My cousin spoke with Klopp’s agent the other week in the Lakes and he thought all 3 contracts were basically done and dusted. 🤷‍♂️

That's how I would do it as well but I don't think that's what'll happen, Robbo is on a lot of money and is harder to move.

Robbo plays more than Tsimikas this season then starts next season while a new LB gets adjusted with Robbo leaving at the season's end is something I could see happening.

Tsimikas has been really good this season while Robbo's been declining. Have said all season long that Robbo isn't Slot's type. He just isn't technical enough. Athletism has always been his biggest strength but like with any human, staying at your peak shape gets harder and harder as you age.
