Yet I’m on year 5 of transitioning and not a had a single penny spent on me by the NHS. My situation is the same as many many others, we actually save the NHS money by funding 3/4 or own transition before we even see the NHS.

When I transitioned (started summer 2012) I spent 12 months in private care, then it was a little over 2 years from first NHS consult to SRS (Nov 2015). This feels like a lifetime back then but it's nothing compared to the purgatory that the NHS gatekeeping imposes on trans ppl today. It's inhuman.

Correct. When PREP was approved for preventing HIV transmission in gay men, the papers and talk radio were full of stories about how we were taking money away from babies with cancer. It's never about the money. It's about how straight cis gender people disapprove of how we live our lives.
