what do you think the Vikings will do next year with JJ? continue to sit him behind Sam so that he learns? Feels silly to let this type of QB play go in order to play your rookie.
Ask yourself this, what did you think of Sam Darnold before this season started?
If KOC/Minnesota were able to change perception of him so much in one year, why cant they get the same kind of performance from a hand picked rookie theyve already coached for a full season?
Paying Darnold is sacrificing their window. They just spent the last 3 offseasons eating dead cap to clear the books and create space, throwing all that away to pay a QB when you traded up for a rookie would be counterintuitive
He will get about 40mil/year in FA. The Vikings top 3 CBs are all FA so hey need to re-sign/pay a whole new CB room, their RG is still a mess, they only have a first and 2 5th rounders in the draft, one S is likely retiring the other is an FA. If they pay Sam they will be a worse roster in 2025
very insightful! appreciate you sharing this level of detail and analysis - definitely makes sense to me as to why they'd move on from Darnold and give JJ a shot.
Teams won't be able to play cover zero with both Hollywood brown and worthy on the field at the same time(2 weeks away)...PM will torch them deep🏈...if they play zone he will pick them apart with kelce, hopkins, gray, pacheco, hunt etc etc...this will be HUGE for the chiefs offense🏈
