May I suggest that if you are a political speechwriter who does not immediately notice when you accidentally echo probably the most infamous British political speech of the last hundred years then you might not be a very good political speechwriter?

May I slso suggest that a barrister that doesn't read the solicitor's case file and half way through the trial says 'Oh. It was rape AND murder, was it? My bad' doesn't rise to be DPP.
It's just such a real shame that when Starmer was giving his speech, it was the first time he'd seen it and he was reading it out loud from a piece of paper. Because surely such a savvy political operator would have caught it if he'd read it previously?
