Totally anecdotal, but the IDD population I work with trends toward identity, and they are for the most part online.
More specific I cannot get for obvious reasons.

1/3 Internet access was needed. We asked a number of self-advocacy orgs to share the survey (eg ASAN, different self-advocacy orgs in different states and Canada), some of whom have members who are/are viewed by autistic people with IDD. We asked if participants were supported by another person...

2/3 to take the survey (most people said they did it independently). We asked about speech (35 autistic participants reported not primarily using speech to communicate) but not the kinds of support they need. I think we asked for co-occurringdiagnoses, but no one self-reported IDD/ID.

3/3 So like the rest of published terminology work, this study doesn't have a significant sample of autistic people with IDD or who are nonspeaking and may or may not reflect their views. We started this study in 2020, collected data in 2021, & would do some things differently if we re-did it today.
