I did originally reply to you days ago & then delete it because it felt too much like centering, but: the klan is here too & has been for decades. so it was confronting for me to read too. like, ah. that terror was exported long ago & we contend with it still but to you it is very distant
🐈⬛and for us it is very much a constant; a pervasive threat that it feels stolen to take, like so many everyone who is not us does with everything we create, a word such as 'klansqueer' to deflect from very warranted criticisms
offensive is closer to it tbh esp for one so learned
even if we have the 'connection' we should be wary of falling into thinking that it gives us the sole right to do what we will with it. if you have no connection you should be conscious of when you feel permitted & why. someone encouraging that perspective is presenting themselves as authority.
