I've no idea what the new ones were like, but wow, I still remember some of the rich backstories I gave them. They became a vessel for everything else going on too... one gruff camo clad guy 100% developed the personality of Wolverine. They became the channel for so much imagination.

The new ReAction 3 3/4 inch ones suck, they have no accessories, are barely posable, and cost like $20-25 each. The Classified series are pretty nice though, they’re like $25 a figure, 6”, and have a ton of accessories and articulation. The vehicles are crazy expensive though on the Classified ones

Honestly it's probably just part of getting older. I loved Legos as a kid and I still do, but now when I get a LEGO set I often catch myself immediately putting it on a display shelf after building it. It's much harder now for me to tap into the imagination I had as a kid.

My fav thing was when I was a kid the campaigns and setup of my cobra figs against my younger brothers Joes.. I can’t remember the scenarios we created, but it would go on for hours… very much like a d&d game. Then, you just… lose it, that magical dreaming of a child disappears- just one random day.

We read those, but never used them. We had our own stories for them. Tunnel Rat was my main character and my best friend had Snake Eyes for his. Those 2 lead a group of our figures against the rest in lots of battles for a few years.
