I'd only add one addition to reasons people might not use alt text: a lot still don't understand what it IS!
Approach from kindness, it's not like people aren't doing it from a place of malice. Explain what it is & why it matters. This is a great resource to share, there are more tips inside!

So much wonderful art in #boardgaming & I always look for the artists here on Bluesky in hopes I can help boost their work but most don't seem to use alt-text.
