It would have been a commercial for a game that doesn't exist. Look at everything else, they all promoted something out/intheworks/freshlyannounced.

People would have just complained that there wasn't a Doom and Halo together game.

Feels like 343 has been going out of its way to minimize the Halo single player experience since Infinite launched. How is it possible we never got expanded campaign content on Gamepass?? It's the perfect distribution model to pair with campaign DLC!

I’d bet the real reason is that since the Halo show was likely airing while this was pitched that MS wanted to avoid confusion or the possibility that fans ended up liking whatever Secret Level did over what was going on at Paramount.

I cannot just flatly accept that a "Doom Guy + MC" Secret Level episode would have been AMAZING, or even "good." Personally, outside of the Warhammer 40k episode, I thought most of the Secret Level episodes were "fine" at best. A few were...not good. I can't blame MSFT for being wary of this.

An episode, with a good pitch, focused on DOOM: The Dark Ages, makes more sense for that show. The quality level wasn't always the best, and we simply don't know what the pitch was or how it was rejected.
