Bleh... my brother (who is an MD) told me to just let the fever do it's thing instead of masking it with dayquil. X_X The sore throat is the worst part tbh, tested negative for covid so I'm happy about that at least. I wanna see if my brother is right haha - ThreadSky

While fevers should be monitored to make sure they don’t get too severe, they are the body’s many ways of trying to get rid of the issue. Your body is trying to kill the enemy with fire.

Yeah that's what he told me, he said "Fevers exist for a reason. If you keep lowering them it takes the body more time to fight it" I never thought of that before to be honest haha. Thankfully the highest it got was 101.9. It's at around 100.2 with meds now

Hot Tea or hot apple cider, with a shot of cinnamon whisky.

It soothes the throat. For the fever, just take an antihistamine. Or even put an ice pack on the back of your head and lay down.

I'm definitely gonna do the hot tea with honey, it's given me at least a little relief for sure. That's a good idea! I'm gonna take a bath and cool down like that as well...I hate being sick...X_X

Even straight honey is good. Just take as needed or lick a spoonful. Can help throat, help with congestion, etc.

It really is! No wonder why it's been a part of pretty much all of our ancestor's lives. It never spoils naturally. It's full of energy giving sugar... and it really does help a lot with a cold! Bees are amazing creatures ❤️

Hope you feel better soon, gargling with salt water can help, so can mouthwash, when all else fails I use a numbing spray like Chloraseptic.

If you partake in the electric lettuce. I thought i'd let you know it's a natural antihistamine. It has been used as such since Ancient China.

Also, it's a great painkiller. Learned all of this during cancer stuff.

He's not wrong, fever is the bodies way of killing the virus by turning up the heat, just don't let it get too high. Viruses like cold so fever big strong. Make sure to just keep super hydrated and get good nutrition!

I honestly never thought of it that way until he said it haha. My first impulse is to immediately take meds. He told me to keep an eye on it and if it gets very high, go to the er, but it basically needs to run its course

I feel it cuz first thing you wanna do is alleviate those symptoms cuz how debilitating it can be. It gets even wilder once you find out thick mucus even serves a infection fighting purpose when your sick.
