That Suburu truck and similar ones were all over Melbourne for contractors etc. The rare North American style truck really, really didn't fit there; it was too wide for the lanes.
Here in the Pacific Northwet, I delight in seeing these tiny, hairy men that have to use a stepladder to get in and out of their oversized-ego McTrucks
I recognize I'm being a bit size-ist here, but no one made them buy a truck where they practically need platform shoes to reach the pedals. It is both ridiculous and pervasive here
Growing up in the 70s and 80s, both my parents drove land yachts. The cars were massive. Then fuel efficiency became important and cars were smaller, briefly. Then the SUV market took over and cars are massive again. Easily as big as the land yachts of the 70s and 80s.
