If you look at it purely through the lens of what you find pleasing and positive and not as a legitimate character study of someone who isn’t positive, well I suppose it does. One of the best films of the year though.
Same. I could write an essay about it though - which I suppose means it must have had something. They could have cut the daft Cookery Olympics with no impact on the film. If I’m still talking about it at half seven though I must have had a good afternoon out.
Depends on the type of thing you like. It’s not by any stretch an exciting film but it does paint a really rich picture of a character (and family) having a crisis due to unresolved issues. It’s very moving.
