😍

A moving, playful, characterful film about letters and artistic creation that’s an aural and visual patchwork of performance and epistolary drama — such a feat given the short production time afforded. Wonderfully personal Q&A with @nicolameighan.bsky.social afterwards too.

Looking forward to a day through at @glasgowfilmfest.bsky.social and catching the intriguing looking performance film, The Extraordinary Miss Flower, from the directors of 20,000 Days on Earth and featuring contributions from Nick Cave himself. Sounds fascinating and poignant.

Haha. Way to make it sound like you’re doing me a favour, Netflix.

Something really needs to be done about these type of fascist Nazi events springing up around the UK.

I’ll be on Afternoons with @nicolameighan.bsky.social on BBC Radio Scotland at 3.30pm, where up for discussion today are showgirls and stoners, as well as paying tribute to the GOAT, Gene Hackman.

Genuinely thought no one would be bringing up the oddity that is Loose Cannons today but there we have it and the memory is pragmatic and quite sweet (with a dash of brand promotion)

A towering screen presence. RIP.

Officially, the first indicator that any year has truly begun is the opening gala of @glasgowfilmfest.bsky.social — and tonight was no different. Allison’s last year though 😭

A nice advert for Scotland —and particularly Aberdeen— in James Ellroy’s The Black Dahlia.

Murder. Mystery. Midges. Celebrate 30 years of cult 90s cop show Hamish Macbeth with the definitive behind-the-scenes story: HAMISH MACBETH: THE MAKING OF A BBC TV CLASSIC. Book cover and release date coming soon!

Still taking this in. Janice is a fantastic broadcaster and was hugely supportive and welcoming to me in my early days of going on the wireless. A joy to gab about films with. Sending her much love.

On Afternoons with @nicolameighan.bsky.social on BBC Radio Scotland in 10 mins discussing big pants, vibranium wings and railway romances. Tune in!

Superb! Trying to be coy here but everything you’d want from an Inside No. 9 stage production: vaudeville, the hits, meta trickery and commentary, tight gags and genuine thrills. A hugely assured way to cap things off. #InsideNo9 #StageFright

Tonight’s entertainment.

Seems reasonable enough.

I swear it wasn’t me who arranged these bookshelves in Fopp but someone did the job.

We’re absolutely delighted to have been awarded Multi-Year Funding, which demonstrates the belief that Creative Scotland and Screen Scotland have in the viability and future of a re-opened Filmhouse. www.creativescotland.com/news-stories...

Hello to all human beings in the Bluesky cosmos. I heard it's pleasant vibes over here. I like to yell good morning off my front porch to my neighbors so maybe I will holler at you sometimes. No interest in hate and disinformation though sorry to say, though beauty and creation do interest me. -III

Fairly solid. Finally got around to seeing the film behind my favourite trailer. #LastFourWatched
