We’ve (@nycbikelanes.bsky.social and others) have been asking for this since before this lane was installed. DOT expressly refuses to do it. They design bike lanes like this to be used as loading/standing zones but don’t acknowledge it publicly.

Only thing I can think of is citizen enforcement. This culture is just too ingrained in the municipal workforce for it to be done by city workers. I’m trying to push CM Restler to advocate for a pilot program in his District to demonstrate that it can work before going citywide.
