Edmonton is a WINTER CITY. Understand that, and understand WHY we don't need bike lanes or anything else that some other cities may find viable. You NEED a car or truck to survive and thrive here, not a bike. I don't mind bikes, but when they take up critical infrastructure they are a nuisance. - ThreadSky

So where should the bikes be? In your lane on the road? Or illegally on the sidewalk? I walk, bike, and drive. Bikes take up way less room than F350s.

People need F350s for jobs. To carry heavy loads, to get through our iced-up, snowed up streets. That's just winter in Edmonton. There are many reasons to own a truck. I don't myself, but it damn well made it easier when I did have access to one. My poor car is barely making it thru.

Sure, some do. My neighbors park 2 or 3 extended cab pickups on public streets all the time (who gave them that public space making driving down the street harder) and usd them to commute and take the kids to school. Other vehicles on the street haven't moved for months. We can share space.

There are a small # of roads in Edmonton with on-street bike lanes, like 83 Ave, 127 st. They are NOT major commute routes. Which roads are bugging you so much that you want to remove people's transportation choice and put them in a vehicle sitting in front of you and glazing up intersections?

No one has convinced me that we need biking infastructer in Edmonton, and you won't. If you like your bike so much, why are you living in an area where you can't use it without major issues 6 months out of the year? You can't safely drive on ice. Period.
