I think that picking both is the most beneficial to us as individuals. It is often difficult to feel pain for others if we haven’t felt that pain ourselves first.
My problem is that I can often feel other’s pain too well, and that’s why it’s sometimes so easy for me to ☢️ “go nuclear” ☢️ on someone… especially if it seems like they think of nothing other than themselves, have few (or 0) good outward intentions that are observable, &/or are false/manipulative.
He may not have said it, I didn’t even pay attention to the attribution but it doesn’t necessarily decrease it’s truthfulness as a statement that may have been said by anonymous
While feeling some level of empathy and understanding towards others' pain is considered healthy and natural, experiencing another person's pain intensely to the point where it significantly impacts your own well-being is not considered healthy,
If you feel pain, then don’t do that again bonehead. If you feel other peoples pain, then don’t do what the hell the boneheads are doing bonehead.

I feel both, no choice in either, empathy isnt a thing you get to switch off, same with osteoarthritis, I can be displeased with people and still feel their pain, it's only human.
Luckily, we are blessed within an abundance of similar quotes emphasising empathy, throughout the ages. Unfortunately, different people have different teachers.

I pick both.... because I feel my pain and can tell when other people are in pain.
In fact when I encounter a grumpy person my first thought is they're probably in pain. I give them the benefit of the doubt.
I actually disagree I think that even bad people are still human. Nothing can make a person more or less human being a monster is a very human quality. The animals don't do it like we do. It is good to feel for others which is what I think he was trying to say in a romantic way.

There is no "else", therefore, both are possible. 👍
Furthermore, assuming we feel other people's pain as pain, such a feeling is already included in "feeling pain" by itself. 👌
