Cuomo rehabilitation is so depressing because of all the guys who got MeToo'd out of politics he was probably the guiltiest. he actually got an investigation and the investigation not only verified the public allegations but also found that there were more victims than the press knew about!

Normally if someone tries to kill a governor, the president is briefed, calls the governor, and issues a statement committing resources to bringing perps to justice. It’s not just that we don’t expect Trump to be kind—we have to wonder if he’ll allow a real investigation at all.

Also very strange - I haven’t read a lot of statement from elected and/or political elites today expressing concern about anti semitism today. Wonder why?

this can seem confusing to keep up with, the key to understanding it is to recognize that these people don't know anything their ideas are wrong and they're all so very bad at their jobs that their best efforts are indistinguishable from intentional sabotage which is why they were put in their roles

i mean it's one five-minute task, michael. how long could it take to get started on it, ten days?

Ended. Up. Ended. Up. endedup

When writers and artists say we don't want Elon Musk feeding our work into his AI shit for his own profit, I tend to hear some folks say, "let's just abolish property rights" in response Feels like the tech nerd version of "let's just abolish marriage" in response to the gay marriage movement

Amid all this rending of garments about interfering with a foreign sovereign like El Salvador, it's interesting to recall that there's a statute directing the president to invade the Netherlands if an American is ever detained by the Int'l Criminal Court

which Atlantic writer’s alt do we think this is

the Atlantic is opening up new fronts to the culture war that I didn’t even know existed while the president is nuking the economy from orbit

Imagine being brain-dead enough to label Matthew Yglesias of all people a “leftist”. How do people like Marco tie their shoes in the morning?

guys i have a confession i'm a cishet white woman from north carolina who goes to church every sunday and i send all my kids to duke

While there is a lot to say about this image, the thing that stands out to me the most - what IMO makes genAI a specifically right wing phenomenon - is the craving for approval. It is not enough to be able to generate robot lingerie warrior lady. They NEED to also be praised for doing it.

Women talk more during child breaking years by a tiny percentage and no one thought in the original study to examine whether it was because they were doing most of the childcare

The options here are: 1) they’re so stupid that when setting 100s of exemptions last week they just forgot our 2nd & 3rd largest manufactured imports until Friday 2) they think you’re so stupid you won’t see this is still a giant unfair giveaway to parts of the electronics industry 3) both

“they were polite to me so they can’t be a monster” is the most consistent failure of elite society

here's today's post: "Bill Maher is very sad because you hate him. boo fucking hoo" — read the room, asshole. thanks for reading, and please sign up for my daily newsletter so you never miss a post —

I am not sure that I have ever seen a post that so fundamentally misunderstands the motivations and skill set of federal employees. Set aside the meaning of "productivity." The federal employees that the Trump administration has sought to remove are not going into manufacturing.

Honestly the reaction to this video makes me think more of us men need to say "dude, what the hell's wrong with you?" more often.

there was not "intense social pressure" to stop saying 'master bedroom' and 'brown bag lunch,' bffr. If you were a national pundit with millions of readers you would get some annoying twitter replies and emails. Ordinary people with normal jobs were not experiencing this.

My bold proposal: make this website suck ass

This both is moral and also practically sound posturing and agenda setting if you care about workers in America and esp if you’re the leader of a noteworthy union with some political muscle and it is a shame that other big names in that sphere couldn’t seem to crack the very easy code on seeing that
