Pretty much, that is why I do love civic politics the most as you look closely at the local candidates. We live in parliamentary democracy we do not choose the PM the MP's do technically.

Read the party platforms as they become available. It really doesn’t take that long and they are meant to be somewhat short and understandable. You won’t agree with everything, but you will find out if you are fundamentally opposed to certain political ideologies.

I completely disagree. This attitude is bleeding our democracy to death and destroying turnout because people aren’t inspired by this, and when turnout is low our nightmare FPTP system gives crushing majorities to parties that don’t deserve them. We need more engagement, not less.
