“He’s better than polievre” so what? Being better than a crappy alternative doesn’t give mark carney a free pass from accountability. Just truly embarassing stuff, libs

“He’s better than Polievre”was the argument for the election. Now that Carney won the election we should judge him on what he does. No one in government should ever get a free pass.
No but it also doesn't mean tearing Carney apart especially if the same standards aren't applied to Poilievre or the Conservative Party leader du jour.
First, Steve constantly knocks Poilievre down a peg often, one of my favourite reasons to watch his YT videos.
Second, Carney is the PM and Poilievre is an unelected mouthpiece ATM so of course Carney should be criticized when he does questionable things ex. Bill C-2
What’s your problem with carney? It’s easy being better than pollievre but that’s not the point. Carney us smart, he seems like a leader I can get behind.
He's authoritarian, ignoring the rights indigenous have to understand legislation he demands get pushed through, he's absolutely going to ignore environmental concerns.
We can't wait for you to wake up to that or care about that. If we all did what you do, we'd be welcoming fascism with open arms.
I found this disturbing. All of this can happen now, but we can stand and say it is illegal.
If c-2 passes, all we can say is that it is wrong.
Makes me want to send letters with questionable stuff on the outside.
Like randomly saying “bomb” on your cellphone.
C-2 as its written at the moment would allow law enforcement to get unfiltered access to nearly anything your service provider has access to, which is much more intimate than google or MCS.
A peeeping tom looking in your window, vs standing in your house.
He’s been on the job about five minutes or so- let’s take a few deep breathes and see what he delivers before we start tearing him apart ok? Negativity only breeds more of the same..
Well we have to agree to disagree. Pretty tough to turn a ship around on a dime. He’s got the cards I like so I’m sticking with him. And I’m optimistic.
Carney's actively steering towards a worse direction though. It's not a case of things headed wrong then him not righting fast enough, he's actively choosing the wrong way with the stuff he's done so far.
I’d give him a year..I’m guessing what I want from this govt and what you’re looking for would be different things.Whatever!
It takes time for policies to be made, negotiations finalized, details managed, and then the time it takes filtering it down to the point me-on the street-can see the change.
Ya'all are sounding more and more like U.S. citizens. 😳 Wake the eff up, Canada. You're being pulled along by the nose and making it look easy right now. LESSER EVIL IS STILL EVIL
That's what I keep saying, sure, he was the obvious choice if PP was the alternative, but that doesn't mean he's perfect and we cannot be disappointed in his decisions and bills.
It just means we're smarter than the Americans where we understand nuance, at least marginally better.
I also worry about this bill and how it could be used - and I think we have to go a little Orwellian on this. What if they decide women should be surveilled? Or certain professions? If they aren't making these laws 'fascist-proof', 'notwithstanding clause-proof' then are they truly protecting us?
Feels like nobody bothers to read policy or analyze the actions of their leadership. Very much becoming the same corrosive style of leader-based politics they have down in the states.
“My guy” vs “their guy” is not how you get a government that is accountable to its people.
To all those saying "they will only use those powers when really needed." ask anyone who gets pulled over in Saskatchewan. They force you to blow and take a drug test every time, because they can, even though they said they wouldn't when it became law.

We have no meaningful left opposition.
Any criticism feels like a point for the Conservatives.
It's the same reason that Singh criticizing Trudeau upset people.
