Bluesky has gotten much more pleasant since I started blocking much more capriciously. Moving the standard from “horrible" to "annoying" has protected my peace a ton. I'm sure a bunch of folks complain from behind blocks, that I'm limiting discourse or something. but bluesky isn't real life. - ThreadSky

Blocking here is efficient.
Slays me when I block an obvious troll or dude using this site as a dating app who is trying to impress me with misogynistic profile pic, or anyone GOP and they block me back.
I’m good with that, as they weren’t the type I wish to interact with.

I use this app to stay informed and to enjoy myself. Protecting my peace has helped enormously. Bluesky has a tendency to include a lot of the most terminally online people and weeding them out makes it so much more pleasant. That being said, if you feel unfairly blocked, i want to give a recourse.

This approach is basically social media selfcare. You won't get along with everyone and some people/groups don't mix well.

I have long time mutuals who I love and yet I have blocked some of their friends because we don't get along.

Proper blocking is the best strategy here.

I have a public email. If you feel you've been wrongly blocked, reach out. I'm a reasonable person. Generally. Unless you are pro butter tart. Then you can see yourself out.
