We watched the first two episodes last night. They were *okay* without my having any frame of reference in regard to the books.
But I've definitely watched shows and movies that ended in me raging at the TV because the interpretation was so loose. Looking at you, Eragon and Percy Jackson 🧐
It works well for my fiance, because he is not a reader. So, he is happy I haven't read the books so I don't complain about all the changes like I usually do with such shows/movies 😂
My favourite series of books! I’ve read them through at least 3 times now - one of the joys is how long that takes to do. They slow down a lot for a while a few books in, but it’s well worth pushing through.
You look too young to have read my book in its prime, but when you're thru with all your arcs, I hope you'll give it a look as it is truly a GREAT work. 😘
Total of 14 books all together that follows all the main characters from start to finish. The prequel appears to be what Robert Jordan had originally wrote that touches on time before The Eye of the World.
Cool I honestly thought that as it was, with 12 direct sequels wasn't engaging enough to continue reading and honestly drew myself more towards stuff like Earthsea but I hope you get more out of it than I did and I mean that.
I've definitely been taking my time with it, I'm absolutely loving it! I can't wait for all the foreshadowing to make sense, it's going to be so much fun 😁🎉

I’m trying to get through the first book but I started college again and haven’t had time.
Book 4 for me - the Shadow Rising - is the absolute highlight of the series, with many jaw dropping moments.

Try not to speed read it. So much of the foreshadowing that isn't muckety-muck prophecy is already in the first book if you pay attention.
Coming back to it from a less me or male perspective has been odd. I'm older and more clued in to what others in the fandom have said for years.
I can't wait to find new perspective on my favorite female characters.
However, the beatings will continue until morale improves.

It's when you have 5+ pages describing the idyllic little town, 4 pages on the history of a sword you'll only read about one.
Epic world building is great, but in limited quantities XD
