Happy to help improve the accuracy of medical portrayals in fiction!
Don’t usually remove a skull fragment for fun, but when there’s dangerous intracranial bleeding. Without a brain bleed, skull fractures generally arent operable
Nonop skull fractures heal on their own. Brain bleed, especially with significant pressure, is going to be a long recovery
Hello! I'm back with another question. Glad to see you have a place to categorize them! What should I be careful about while writing about mold sickness? In the story, there has been continuous rain for weeks in a mountainous area and that caused a mold sickness epidemic.
The pov character is a pharmacist who can use magic and I need to show him examining the patients and administering medicine, cough-drops being one of them. The tech is victorian era level but there's magic, as mentioned
You should use something like valley fever (coccidiomycosis) as your inspiration. Respiratory illness starting as a pneumonia (fever, cough). After a few weeks can get much sicker and meningitis.
Good luck!
We give time for family to come to the bedside and grieve

So it depends. Often an hour or more
And we clean the room, which is the messiest part with strewn packages around everywhere from all the meds/tubes/etc we open trying to resuscitate someone
But the tubes and lines often need to stay in place
A recommendation: I would use a different profile picture that is not AI generated.

I would say look for stock images for now or check out Picrew and make a basic avatar. I can try to find one that may have medical accessories if you'd like and provide the link.
Traumatic injury to limbs requiring amputation. Excluding magic BS for plot, what time frames and actions would we need to look at for survivability? How long does PT and...
You certainly have some freedom depending on the world you build, but hopefully give you a starting point

If she’s smart enough and has the equipment to fix a pneumothorax (dropped lung with a chest tube), a stab wound to the chest can be fairly recoverable.
