My opinion: if you don't show up to an executive session at least once/year, you aren't adequately covering your city/board. You aren't a real watchdog news publication if you're not using the law that uniquely allows Oregon journalists to make sure your governments are following open meeting laws.

I'm about to join them for the next executive session, though. Some horrifying news I was just told: there have been no journalists present at city executive sessions in recent memory in Forest Grove. Happy to start being an actual watchdog journalist for this town as much as I am able starting now.
