Ok, so they say to rinse your rice before cooking to get rid of the starch. I’ve tried rinsing and not rinsing and I barely taste a difference. Am I a philistine?

It‘s not for reasons of taste. Supposedly, it‘s to make the rice less sticky, but that‘s largely nonsense. Really, the reason to rinse rice is to clean it.
This is a hill I will die on. I'm not going to judge people for rinsing their rice. But I'm not going to bother, I've never been able to tell a difference.
