I have been saying for years streaming services should have playlists. So you can build your own prime time lineup. I wanna build a Toonami playlist on HBO Max.
I have been saying they need playlists for forever, bc of this and also for like when I was watching DS9/voy in broadcast order, or people putting together their top eps or topic focused, and also the shuffle bc sometimes that's whatcha want!
in the case of the latter, I would advocate a full 4k remaster that also just removes him from any scene he's in. even if the ep was about him and became inscrutable, it would be an improvement
I also want to be able to watch every episode of all three series in release order that are rated above 7.8 on IMDb and none rated below that without having to do anything other than hit play
I'm pretty sure that there is a market for a banger app that could let you build playlists and then shuffle them for multiple streaming service episodes and/or audiobook chapters.
for a while i had this dumb idea for something called a “teevee emulator” where you would just load a bunch of video files on a raspberry pi and it would sort them them into fake channels and you could just flip around and see what was “on”
I’ve been convinced for like a decade that the absolute killer feature/app is something you can add a bunch of shows/streaming subscriptions to that seamlessly creates scheduled rerun channels.
Seconded, and I would even buy even upload weird vintage commercials into mix. In between star trek episodes see some commercials for the Kenner star trek figures?! Hell yeah.
Paramount Plus has a Star Trek channel that rotates blocks of shows from various series throughout the day, although it didn’t have VOY or DS9 in the rotation when I was a subscriber (maybe because there are no HD options for them?)

Star Trek was like, top of mind for this lol
